One of the oldest Shiva temple in Uttarakhand, Tapkeshawar is located at the banks of the Nandi River. The Temple is located within a cave which is categorized by naturally dripping water over the Shiva lingam and is surrounded by the forests.
The temple is situated approximately 6 kms away from the main city of Dehradun and is considered the nearest pilgrimage in Dehradun. The temple is situated between the two hills which attract its tourists and pilgrims. Tourists come to see water drops dripping on the Shivalingam and vanishes to under the ground. There is also a sulphur water spring where devotees take a dip before going into the temple.
