Baijnath Temple is believed to be 1,000 years old and is dedicated to the lord Shiva. The temple was sanctified in 1204 AD and is a fine specimen of the Nagara (North Indian) style of architecture. It is believed, that a Shiva temple has existed since epochs before the contemporary structure which was fabricate in the year 1204. The temple also endows with some of the most amazing views of the surrounding mountain ranges. As per the mythological beliefs, Lord Shiva and Devi Parvati got married at this place at the sangam of river Gomti and Garur Ganga.
